Android Market Explained - Technorati Android

It suddenly occurred to me that not everyone is familiar with how the Android Market stands in terms of technology and how it actually operates. Therefore, I have done some research and have written an article to simplify it as a starting point so that others can engage with these devices and applications full knowing their capabilities. Please take a look and let me know what you think... Android Market Explained - Technorati Android

Android Market 2.3

Although I've not yet purchased one of these tablets, I thought I would do some online research before making a decision. I get so fed up with the usual marketing as it's too unreliable. My first step was to ask Facebook friends if they had any personal experience with any of the Android Market tablets. One friend (Mark) replied telling of the experience with his own tablet and said that he'd been using the Android platform for the past 3 years and that it's very stable especially for multitasking. He also mentioned how useful all the free apps are. He obviously likes it as he's already talking about upgrading to another when his contract expires this summer. This type of feedback is invaluable coming from a friend who is already using the Android Market 2.3 tablet.

This gave me the impetus to look even further because I want to be sure that the Android 2.3 suits my own personal needs - which may differ greatly from Mark's. The wide wide range of Apps is obviously appealing, but I guess I wont be needing them all, although once I get started you never know. Since having my first Android phone I've become addicted to the "Checking In" App and use it whenever I go into the center of London. This came about due to my idle curiosity of exploring the App market that I was able to access directly as with most Androids.

One annoying aspect of the Android Tablet though is the built-in speakers, especially when I see some of these guys frantically gaming away in public and oblivious to the sound effects blurring out at such a high decibel range. Why they cannot use the earphones I don't know. Still, I can understand their enthusiasm as it has a super fast G-sensor, although not really sure what that means as I'm not into gaming. I couldn't help but notice how the screen colours and resolution made their gaming come alive. Their expertise also looked quite impressive due to the responsiveness of the touch function.

It beats me how an Android tablet of this quality can come in at such a low price. And from reading some of the reviews on Amazon, it's delivered quickly with excellent packaging. Comparing with some of the other models on Amazon, the A1CS 8" Android 2.3 seems to be a good quality tablet that puts the more expensive Android Market competitors to shame. Some of the other reviews rave about the "unrivaled after sales support" as they take you by the hand every step of the way - something else you don't get from the larger companies.

Thus I discovered a very valuable tip to follow before buying anything is to first check the reviews from someone who is already using it and therefore likely to highlight both it's positive and negative points. If you're new to the Android Market and their latest 2.3 tablets then you'll find Amazon a good and reliable place for reviews. Furthermore, according to Amazon, it seems that the A1CS 8" Android 2.3 offers the best value for money and out-performs tablets costing 3 times the price.

Here are some of the features that I found appealing for my own personal use of the 2.3 tablet:
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread with flash 10.3 (will support BBC Iplayer online playing)
  • HDMI port
  • USB port
  • In built camera,
  • Multi touch screen
  • Pinch Zooming
  • Built-in Bluetooth
These other two features will probably be appealing to those who are more into gaming and knowing about all the latest Apps.
  • 3D graphics with G-sensor (screen tilting for fast racing games)
  • Official android app market with over 100,000 app downloads (free & paid)
I have to say that the A1CS 8" Android 2.3 Tablet rocks on value for money basis. It's a sturdy quality product and does everything you would want and more. Not quite an iPad killer but will stand alone against some of the Android Market tablets.
